Post-Combine Tight Ends Review
Combine Studs
- Greg Olsen - Olsen's stock has increased convincingly following his combine workout. Coming into the combine, Olsen was a borderline 1st-rounder and was in tight competition for the #1 tight end spot with Zach Miller. Now, Olsen is a top 20 prospect and a sure 1st rounder, and has easily established himself as the better prospect over Zach Miller. While Miller dissapointed at the combine, Olsen shone. Olsen's outstanding 4.51 40 was .2 seconds better than his nearest competition, and he looked the best in the tight end position drills. - Michael Allan - When you're a Division III tight end out of Whitworth, you need to find a way to make a name for yourself. At the combine, that's what Michael Allan did. Allan was near the top of the charts in almost every TE drill and established himself as a possible first-day prospect. - Derek Schouman- Derek Schouman definitely moved up some draft boards with his performance at the combine, putting himself at the top of the charts in many drills. He will be drafted on Day 2.
Combine Duds
- Zach Miller- Miller looked alright at the combine, but while Olsen shone, Miller did nothing to set himself out from the pack and although he still should be considered the #2 tight end in the draft, being selected in the first round is unlikely for Miller.
- Anthony Pudewell- For a tight end, a time of over 5 seconds is not acceptable. Pudewell was very dissapointing at the combine, and is in great danger of going undrafted.
