Positives
- Explosive tackler; smart player; diagnoses plays very
quickly; seems to be in on every play; reacts very quickly;
recognizes play fakes well; decent in zone coverage;
knows when to take on blockers; great field general;
extremely tough.
Negatives
- Over-pursues at times, as problems with shedding blocks
on occasion, somewhat of a liability in man coverage
on backs; not an outstanding athlete.
Overall
- Sideline to sideline player who has all the intangibles,
versatile and can play inside and outside, can fit in
any defense, won the Buckus award for best LB in the
country, has had a very difficult life with his brother
drowning last July and growing up in a tough situation.
Played parts of his junior season with a broken finger,
a sprained knee, a foot sprain, and a partially separated
AC shoulder joint.
